Why didn't you address your concerns with someone while you were there, like an employee would be expected to. Even if you had been a paid employee, three months is a long time to wait before raising a grievance. That you even say on your site that you are going to Mexico in a month to freelance, makes it seem that this really is about the money, principals don't tend to have a time delay.
