Watching people get drunk on Twitter

April 8, 2009 No Comment

Twist lets you spot Twitter patterns. This graphs shows how people talk about beer and wine come the weekend - and tweet about being drunk a few hours later.

As you can see, tweeting about beer and wine peaks at 2am saturday and then again at midnight saturday. Tweets about being drunk peak at 8am on saturday and sunday. Although they can't have been that drunk, or they wouldn't be up at that time tweeting.

%age of tweets containing 'beer', 'wine' or 'drunk'  over last 7 days

NB These charts are dynamic, so if you're looking at this in a couple of years' time maybe they'll show something different ...

I used Twist to show that most retweeting happens at 4pm when my survey showed the best time to twitter. I'm presuming, by the way, that all time data is the tweeters local time.
