Updates: I’ve got the numbers figured out. The Guardian is announcing how the Times has achieved huge success by reporting figures with’ Rough numbers for online paid subscribers to the Times and the Sunday Times.
The Times and The Sunday Times received more than 105,000 paid access to their digital products. These numbers also include the subscribers to The Times iPad app and Kindle edition as announced by News International Today.
However, these numbers do not make sense to me at all. These figures showing paid subscribers also include users like me who have subscribed once for 24 hours.
That does not make us a subscriber.
If I break it down like that 104,999 are those who subscribed for 24 hours, it indicates they have only one subscriber who uses it. Even if no one has paid for a 24 hours subscription, you cannot exactly say they have 105000 users. They are just website app buyers.
So without getting into the details, you cannot just say anything exactly from these figures.
